The DataMAX Software Group, currently consists of two different divisions supporting their own market segments
for wireless / mobile solutions. Our General Connectivity division specializes in application development and connectivity
to a multitude of systems (database, legacy, XML, etc.), while our ERP Integration division focuses on providing certified,
open-source transactions and integration expertise for JD Edwards Enterprise One / World and SAP.
Product Value and Differentiation
Manufacturing and distribution organizations are looking for ways to reduce costs in the supply chain. The solution they often
turn to is ADC combined with radio frequency (RF) devices. Many of these solutions fall short due to their complexity,
rigidity, and lack of specific vertical supply chain expertise.
Through the creation of its RFgen Software, DataMAX
- Eliminates the barriers to rapid and successful ADC implementations
- Offers the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) in the industry
- Reduces the traditionally high cost of set up and maintenance with extremely low customization costs and almost non-existent support requirements
RFgen provides end-to-end functionality right out of the box, and it is the easiest-to-use ADC solution to adapt to unique
industry demands and technical environments. When you select DataMAX's technology to power your data collection requirements,
you are not alone. DataMAX has over 2000 installations and over 150 RFgen Certified Partners worldwide that sell and
support the RFgen Software Series. Some current customers include...

ERP Integration: Supply Chain Solutions
DataMAX’s RFgen Software has ‘built-in’ capabilities that are certified to work with
two of the more popular ERP systems supporting today’s modern supply chain: Oracle/JD Edwards and SAP.
Internally, these ERP systems contain ‘standardized business functions’ that encapsulate
their rules for database updates. With RFgen, users of these systems can easily discover,
manage, integrate, and actually embed these business functions directly into their data
collection processing flow forming an ‘intuitive software environment’ that we believe
provides the lowest system TCO (total cost of ownership) available for data collection systems in a
supply chain environment.
The DataMAX ERP division also provides pre-written, open-source transaction
suites for the Oracle/JD Edwards environment. Using these transaction suites, DataMAX customers can
jump start their data collection efforts and get up and running in a fraction of the time required
by other systems; and unlike other solutions on the market, customers can take ownership
of their data collection process as all RFgen transactions are 100% transparent.
General Connectivity: Custom Solutions
Our flagship product, RFgen, incorporates technology that allows it to easily support
many different data collection requirements including ‘wireless’, ‘batch’, ‘mobile’,
and ‘RFID’ operations. RFgen also integrates built-in support for numerous barcode
data collection products (Intermec Technologies, Symbol, LXE, Psion-Teklogix,
PSC, Unitech, and AML) into all of its software solutions.
The RFgen Software series is a Microsoft based environment designed for creating,
managing, and monitoring numerous types of ADC applications. Over twenty man-years
of development time have been invested to create the current release of RFgen. The
system is moderately priced and works with virtually all modern ERP systems, database
management systems, and data collection devices. In addition, ‘legacy’ IBM and Unix
based hosts are supported via RFgen’s legacy systems interface.
RFgen was one of the first data collection application systems
to make widespread use of a ‘multi-tiered, thin client’ approach to ADC applications.
Using this technology, RFgen application changes can be deployed instantly without
stopping data collection activities. Administrators can even view a ‘mirror’ of any
active client session - enabling them to better support their distributed environments.
RFgen also furthers its users investments in the ADC market by incorporating built-in
support for RFID technology, Imaging, Transaction Management, as well as Mobile Device
Data Synchronization.
RFgen is a powerful, easy-to-use system for rapidly creating wireless / mobile enabled ADC
solutions. It incorporates a form designer with embedded support for Microsoft’s ‘Visual
Basic for Applications’ language to provide maximum flexibility. Rather than
requiring the use of ‘C based’ programming languages, RFgen's forms based design
eliminates 90% of the programming effort and greatly reduces programming errors.
Time has proven that RFgen’s unique programming model substantially minimizes data collection
programming and customization efforts, and support costs.
